Surrey's Trading Standards warn of Rogue Tree Surgeon in the area

From today's "TS Alerts !" newsletter to BWC members - see point 3 (...and also point 2 is relevant):

 

"Rogue Traders

  • Cold Calling salesmen offering Alarm systems have been targeting the Epsom and Worcester Park area.
  • 'Traders' offering driveway work in the Oxted area knocking on doors.
  • Tree surgeons have been reported to be cold calling and giving quotes in the Weybridge area saying that they are sub contracted by Surrey County Council and giving out our address - They are not!

Please see the image of the paperwork to spot the 'deliberate' mistakes!"

    I'm talking about the first two not the Tree Surgeons.

    As they feature in the Surrey County Council's Trading Standards newsletter, I would assume so.....wouldn't you ?

    To clarify,  the above is taken verbatim from their news letter, hence why it is in Quotes. 

    I would suggest that TS would not be stating that fact if it were not believed true.....

    Some triva:

    Did you know you need a 'Pedlars' license if you sell "Goods" Door-to-Door, but not if you are selling a "Service", but Doorstep SellingRegulations apply to both activities...
