I saw this news report recently from BALI:

"Rogue Traders Beware - Landscape firm prosecuted for misuse of BALI logo.

Trading Standards from Darlington Borough Council, with the assistance of BALI, recently successfully prosecuted Shane Shipton, trading as J Groves Gardening Services, for displaying the BALI logo on a vehicle when he was not authorised to do so.

Neither Shane Shipton nor J Groves Gardening Services are, or ever have been members of BALI and are therefore not authorised to use the BALI logo. Shipton was sentenced to a 12 month Community Order, with a condition to complete 150 hours of community service, and ordered to pay £100 costs."

While totally glad action was taken against this landscaper person/company for misleading the public (assuming it is correct & accurate), the punishment seemed harsh when compared with that dished to people committing physical acts of violence, burglary, car thief's etc.

They don't comment on the quality of the landscapers work, so is the punishment just for using a trademark/association logo?

I assume BALI are working hard to protect their image ?
