I think it is very good indeed.
It communicates crisply what you are about, plenty of photos and I like the way you have worked in the testimonials.
I am currently getting 8mb download speed so it comes through briskly so I can't say what happens at 0.5mb.
Best,
Steven
Your site is very graphics based and has some fantastic examples of your work.
However, when I scroll down it with my middle mouse wheel the screen goes 'crazy' and the images take a while to load up. How about hosting your photos externally through Flickr or Picassa Web Albums and embedding a slide-show player in your site, thus avoiding the need to scroll down.
Also, the testimonials, glowing that they are!, seem too long and the small font is very hard to see. Why don't you use small snippets of each review and arrange them in a nice arty 'tag' cloud of alternatively link to an external review site such as Freeindex.
Finally, the 'grow your own' section stands out like an 'after thought'! It may be all the rage nationally (aledgedly) but I'd get rid of this section as I, personally, seldom get asked to include a 'grow your own' element into my designs. Then again, I do live in Hull and we all live on oven chips and fish fingers in this part of the world!
P.s You don't have the Landscape Network Green Tick - any reason as to why not?
I am purely a lay person as far Landscapers and their websites are concerned. So the following comments are my impression as if I was a client looking for a Landscaper.
I have seen several websites on here and for me ( not wishing to be unkind to others) yours is by far the best. Other websites ( not only shown on here) I have viewed use very precise wording and are very professional looking but impersonal. Because you have concentrated on excellent completed illustrations and testimonials it provides credence. I actually like the longer testimonials as they reflect a personal statement as opposed to 5 or 6 words which can come across as advertising slogans.
I would not change a thing in respect of content.
