Markup on subcontractors

Hi,

We subby for two companies and im wondering if any one knows if there is a general %% mark up on work?

One of the companies tells us what we get and take it or leave it and another asks for prices and I take it they add their cut on.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

  • Hi Matt

If I use subbies inevitably there is a price paid for labour and a price invoiced to the client. The percentage depends on the task in hand and the abilities of the subbies to carry out the task competently and to a high standard.

Every task is different, but for including paperwork, organising work practices and general running around I wouldn't anticipate less than 30% as payment=profit.

    Cheers, Eugene

  • Thanks Eugene, I had the figure around that. Must be quite a nightmare organising stuff.
