Useful stuff.
It would be great to have an archive of manuals. We're lucky with my car that Porsche have released all their workshop manuals and parts lists/diagrams on the internet. Do companies like Stihl offer the same thing, or are they hoping to keep them secret so you have to go to the dealer for everything?
Depends who you know Paul ;-)
I think the situation differs in various Stihl sales territories. In the US they seem to be 'freely' available but believe that is more to do US anti-competitive rules (?)
There are loads of manuals dotted about on LJN (and a lot in the Etesia Group thanks to Neal Barker).
Would be good to have a discussion to see how these could be collated and indexed to provide a central resouce.....mmmmhhhhhh<...now's there's a task and a half..:-)

Worth doing IMO. Even the small repairs are so much easier if you can get a part number, and the manuals often show how everything fits together.
I did mention something along those lines to Phil once as an idea. I've managed to acquire numerous Stihl workshop manuals etc through internet searches. Unfortunately, copy-write is really the problem and people like Stihl and Honda can get very cross!! Certainly a catalogue with links to the location of the manual etc would be very helpful to loads of people here I'm sure..... if something can be set up with Phils ok, I'd be pleased to add the relevant links that I have.

Given that the Danarm parts diagrams are free to use, going back many years, Honda will struggle to justify getting upset about it: they are the same mowers underneath, despite the big price difference!
Glad to see we have acheived this requested feature and we are slowly moving any documents that can be found to the file system in the Business Objective Group.
If you have any to share or you know of posts that contain useful manuals etc, please send over as per:
"Have you found the LJN file share useful? Why not add a useful document to the resources filing system.
Email to phil@landscapejuice.com
The subject title will automatically be populated with 'LJN file upload' to identify its intended use.
Don't forget to attach the file(s) you wish to share."
And we will make available.
Yes, this was a major leap forward. So pleased we've (eventually) been able to achieve it.
The file archive is just one feature that the, far superior, LJN v3.00 has enabled us to do.
One other feature requested was the stylisation of the Business Objectives' Group. The BOG now has a full forum format too.
If it helps we have now put a parts list section on our site www.mowerspareparts.co.uk Most Etesia manuals are now easy to locate there and if anyone is in need of any other garden machinery manuals then let me know and I will list where I can. They are free to download if required.
