I friend of mine in the US made me aware of this software that is available for free evalution for 15 days.

  http://www.lawnaid.com/

I took a brief look at it and was quite impressed considering I use QXpress. It's a 'cloud/web' based solution, so no software to install and thus is available where ever you can get WWW access (ie home, iPhone, mobile broadband laptop etc ).

Although the terminology is Amercian and currently uses $ sign, from an email exchange, I believe they are about include GBP support. It handles scheduling, invoicing, Sales Tax (ie VAT), has a customer database, can send email invoices or print them, keeps track of machinery and servicing and importantly, for some, will have ability to sync with Quickbooks.

I'm sure it won't be right for some, but take a look if it's of interest...

p.s. I have NO connection to software, author or used it, just glad to see useful green industry software becoming available

  • Looks good but £300.00 a year is a bit too expensive for me.

    This looks the business.

It would be handy for staff as they would have all of the info readily available on their smartphones and mean that job sheets and specifications of work do not need to be printed out each week.

Gary - how did you find out that a UK version was coming out?

My only other concern was that if the company was to go under and all of the data was cloud based then perhaps it might be lost?

  • I currently use PHPBMS, which is free and open source, it can do much of what this software can do, the only downside is you need to customize alot of the "products" etc, but it allows setting up recurring invoices, linking jobs and invoices etc.

Having said that, Jez,s comment above sums the problem with alot of these up - and online system traps you into one supplier.
