As a useful addition, to prevent re-growth on hard surfaces there is a new product on the market, Chikara.
It can be tank mixed with Round-up, etc, and prevents re-growth for up to 5 months.
We have used it around our Nursery this year.
We used to always use Carasron G4, until it was banned.
Chikara is not cheap, but early results appear positive.

We've used Chikara, it works but costs may be a problem depending on usage.
We now currently use Scotts Pro-Sheild as a "1 product" solution.
Please note re: Rigby Taylor's Chikara - It can not be used on hard surfaces, fine on soft surfaces subject to restrictions of use.
"Due to the potential for run-off into surface waters Chikara must not be used on non-porous man-made surfaces, e.g. paved areas, concrete, tarmac car parks and footpaths. Chikara must not be used in or around amenity vegetation."
i have used kurtail (used to be called kibosh ?) use as instructions don't mix it with gly good results in the garden i used it in nearly got it all first go went back after a fortnight to spot treat any bits i missed and i was very happy with the results

i always thought weed killers were a herbicide not pesticides. i have always spot treated on hard surfaces otherwise its a waste of solution (money down the drain) sorry about the pun
pesticide is generic term covering herbicides, fungicide, insecticide etc.....excludes infanticide though, which is not covered by PA1.
Hi gary thank for the info very usefull but, is it me of does most of it just reliterate common sense when and how to apply chemical herbicide ? why do they have to make it such long winded ?
