arbour design

Hi all.I'm moving house soon and have a blank canvas to create my perfect garden.I want a covered arbour over the drive. Like an old lean to car port but somewhat easier on the eye.Any ideas what I can use for the roof that will look nicer than corrugated plastic? I'm thinking polycarbonate sheeting.

    I did my old mans lean to with standard felt. Looks quite nice with planters holding the posts in place
