Pip Howard said… Hi Nicky, The Chelsea Fringe is a brilliant idea and I bet and hope this gets huge very quickly. What you were saying about Chelsea is concerning as myself and others wrote to Defra to encourage that they engage with practitioners more in regards the spread of pathogens - their solution was to take it to Chelsea and simply lay out posters and videos which isn't really full engagement, which from what you say is unlikely to happen at Chelsea anyway, a bit sad and shortsighted maybe?!. I sometimes used to work near enough to Glasgow, Luss estates and once at Auchineden - very fuzzy memories of the ubiquitous chip.

Having established the 10 major stages of the design process; let’s now have a look at how these might be achieved:
Each week I shall concentrate on 1 stage of the design process and discuss my personal approach and what software and techniques I use. I’d be keen to hear how your approach differs and what programs you utilise and in what way.
STAGE 1: INITIAL PRESENTATION OF THE…

Last week we talked about the Pomodoro Technique and how the app derived from its method: Focus Booster is a great way to induce focus and increase productivity in the design studio. This is a great general use tool to cover all stages of the design process that involve paperwork or computer work: but what is the design process – and do we all follow the same structure? Probably not, and it is…

Everybody has their own way of working and I’m no different, but as small business owners we often need to do many different jobs in one day – the types of jobs that larger companies have entire departments for: so there is a need to optimise time and focus on efficiency.
I am primarily a designer and I don’t know about you but my brain certainly behaves a little bit like a computer running on low RAM: too many applications running at once and ideas take a long time to load. …
