Landscapers & Designers Exchange Board. Sharing work and contacts

Posted on August 24, 2012 at 20:11 1 Comment

Way back in 2001, we invented the Landscapers Exchange Board at our Nursery.

It is a forum via our notice board for Landscapers, Designers and to share information, contact each other, find work, share work, for the mutual benefit of all.

How it works now is:

  • Each of our customers add their Business Card to our Notice Board.
  • Every visiting customer views our Board.
  • This puts local Landscaping Businesses in direct contact with others within our…

South West Landscape Centre, where Horticultural experience counts

Posted on August 21, 2012 at 20:17 0 Comments

As with most small businesses we often discount our own skills and knowledge, for day to day stuff.

We recently joined Dormen, as a business mentoring body, for on-site mentoring of our business, and us.

We have learnt, not to downplay our skills in Horticultural, ( as we have sometimes done so) , but to shout about them.

Steve, come the 1st September 2012 has worked in Horticulture for 32 years.  Steve can identify most Trees and Shrubs by sight, and is a walking…

Quality Designers plants, at realistic prices, from the South West Landscape Centre

Posted on August 1, 2012 at 21:10 0 Comments

Over the last few months, the South West Landscape Centre have reviewed their pricing.

The result is very simple, as follows.  For all our home-grown production, our prices will be fixed for the next 12 months.

5 litre - Shrubs, Grasses and selected Herbaceous - All £4.15

From Abelia to Viburnum, we have a great range.  All hard grown, outside, in peat-free compost.  Our 5 litre Agapanthus are obviously budded, most with 3 buds, not just 1 bud, so…

New stock range at the South West Landscape Centre

Posted on March 26, 2012 at 20:17 0 Comments

After several weeks of planning, and waiting, the new stock range at the SWLC will be available from Monday.

We had to hold fire a bit a confirm our final order as we had customers wanting more plants.  So as a result, some is pre-sold.  Don't panic though, we still have a good range of everything.

Some of the stars of the show include

Acer palmatum dissectum Garnet - these stunners are 100cm wide, Trade Price £100

Cornus kousa…

Planting 5 litre versus 2-3 litre

Posted on February 19, 2012 at 20:18 1 Comment

For many years, 2 or 3 litre plants have become the boring, industry tradition.

At the South West Landscape Centre, we intend to change this tradition and show, that larger plants are actually better value for money for Landscapers and Garden Designers.

With 2-3 litre Shrubs, say costing £3.50-£4.50 each, Trade.  What you get is something normally Tunnel grown, covered in fleece over the Winter, so safe for planting out in a domestic garden around…

Thank you for the friend request. I think buying plants from you might be a bit difficult as I am in Norfolk. I would have to make a holiday of it :)

Hey up Steve and Tina,

Thanks for your request...which I've considered and have put to the committee.

After a long consultation and much deliberation we have decided to befriend you.

That's all bo**o**s - n'joy the banter and positive interaction - you are now MY FRIEND.

That's subject to you not mentioning hair loss, baldness, male pattern baldness, chrome domes or anything follically related.
