"Your right sean, The Etesia actually comes with a clip designed to hold the flap open. .I agree that health safety plays a huge part in out business, just someimes common sense and 20 plus years experience is all thats needed. ;-)"

"I've just had a similar task with a rented property, with about an acre grass area - the grass was taller than my ride-on. I had no option but to use the ride-on with a side discharge. It took about 2 and a half hours. Then I went back a couple…"

"Half an acre isn't all that big and 12 inch long grass isnt all that long.  If you have a decent ride on then i would use that and try and collcet the grass.  If you dont i would use a decent mower such as an Etesia on the highest…"

"With the chute down fully the grass would just clog. The heavy duty black plastic strip thats hanging down absorbed all that was thrown out and fell to the floor without any harm to the operator or people in the vicinity."

"Martin it's very dangerous lifting the flap like that! The pro 53 chute means it windrows nicely without lifting the flap just with the bag off, but doing it with the flap tied up can throw out big stones, proper shin-crackers!"

"Hi Alan we used our Etesia Pro 51.  The Garden in question was much the same as yours. It was a large Commercial property that hadn't been touched for over a year due to legal problems with the former building contractor. The new…"

"12 inches isn't really that long, the wet conditions are more of a factor this year. I've cut a 2000 m2 meadow that was a mix of grass, nettles and docks up to well over 12 inches with my Kaaz as a desperate last-resort, when the…"

"If it were me I would cut it with the ferris walk behind, or a scag if you have one, then on subsequent visits cut with a mulch mower. 2000m2 - 45m x 45m or so? Won't take long at all. it's a 1hr cut with a mulching mower or 40 mins with a…"

"Ditto. Half an acre aint that big, but wear a harness to reduce the strain on your arms. Plus you can see what's hidden after you've done that. Then mow and collect the grass."
