Onto the serious side, although discussed a long time before, what are people's current eating habits in our job (whether it's eaten at home; packed, taken and ate "on the go"; or a Petrol station purchase) for;
- Breakfast
- Lunch
Are you good or do you give in to temptation ?
We find that keeping fairly rigid break times gives the day structure and there are also guidlines of how long employees can work without a break. So we all bring in packed grub and drink.
Start 7.30.
Breakfast 10.00 - 10.30
Lunch 1.00 - 1.30
Home 4.30.
Rarely down the cafe, never down the pub.
A lot of the time I don't stop for lunch, more eat while I work, normally sandwiches and fruit or the like.
One of my biggest bug bears is trying to get some variety going! and also trying to find ways of taking warm/hot food in a thermos.
I think if I had an employee then I would legally have to give them structured breaks?
On a serious note, get thee away from the horrid layby wagons?
We have a large permanent Traveller's site nearby, and guess what's parked up there every evening? They currently have for sale one of the older wagons they use at local DIY superstore outlets: how do Come and Queue get away with what must be a cash-in-hand deal to park the chuck-up wagons in their car park?
No food safety, no personal hygeine, no comeback..
At least McDonalds are a fairly safe bet salmonella-wise. It's all about accountability, as we try to educate our clients. Why do we think that a scarily-pink sausage from a run-down caravan is a good food choice!
My personal hate is the big chain hotels and pubs. Breakfast for a couple of quid, in a business like a Wetherspoons or Premier Inn that have massive overheads? Guess what the quality of the ingredients is....
Oh for goodness sake...how to eat thread !!! what next a how to tie your boot laces thread...it's not rocket science...sheesh if folk are that lost on what to put in there mouths I'll write them a menu for the week LOL !!!
