A mulching blade might be also worth considering?
Line or blade doesn't make that much difference in long grass I find. I think the blades are more meant for think grasses and reeds are they not? But if there's anything hard in there or edges then 100% use a line over a blade.
Line, miles better. Not used a strimmer blade for twenty years and don't think I'm missing out on anything.
If their are lots of seed heads the grass may have gone "straw" like in the stem, and if its dry it will be too tough for easy work with a line - so use a blade, if its mostly leaf / blade the grass will cut much better with a line as the blade tends to push some of this out of the way and batter it rather than cut it.
