Strimming long grass ?

Got a Strimming job coming up, most of the area is two footLong grass that has folded over, I have a large husky brush cutterWhat method would be quicker, to use a blade, or thick line.

  • A mulching blade might be also worth considering?

  • Just strim it low then rake it in then mow on high cut job done.

Line or blade doesn't make that much difference in long grass I find. I think the blades are more meant for think grasses and reeds are they not? But if there's anything hard in there or edges then 100% use a line over a blade.

  • Line, miles better. Not used a strimmer blade for twenty years and don't think I'm missing out on anything.

  • If their are lots of seed heads the grass may have gone "straw" like in the stem, and if its dry it will be too tough for easy work with a line - so use a blade, if its mostly leaf / blade the grass will cut much better with a line as the blade tends to push some of this out of the way and batter it rather than cut it.

  • +1 for the blade, given the description
