  hes what we call a "have a go, Hoe blow and mow" chap.
  They are the sort that are released into your garden and remove your Ranuculus in mid may because they "looked like a weed", they also remove all spraxis and alliums on supsicion of being grass.

  A Gardener on the otherhand lives under a clay pot somewhere.

  The reverse of that are those with with all the qualifications, all the knowledge but no idea what a day's work is.

  Gardener: someone who knows what they're talking about and doing in a gardener.

  The word 'gardener' does not apply to someone who's limit of outdoor experience is brushing a patio, neither does it apply to someone who's simply taken a credit card to a machinery shop and spent a couple of grand on cool looking machinery they don't know how to use!

  I suspect he was having you on...... no-one could be that bad surely! Hope he can spell gardener though :) lol!!
