Yes, there should be a fixing bolt that comes from below (hidden by the chrome cover plate and gearbox housing cover - ie you can't see the bolt) into that hole, leaving about 6mm of thread showing.
Near to that is the Torx greasing bolt.
If you can see deep into threaded hole, then bolt is loose/missing, but then you would have grease ouzing out.
Mine seems to have a slight misfire at full revs like a rev limiter
That's most likely the rev limiter.
We've never had the need to adjust, but could be possible at some point (but we've access to a good Stihl Tech with a little priority service :-).....
