When I have put together circular decking before I have set the base in the same way as you would do with a normal deck. But make sure that the external base posts ar to the width of the circle excluding the overhand of the decking boards plus the width of the facial board. Then if you use 22mm x 100mm pressure treated board in a decent length it will bend around the external posts and can be secured on the posts. I have also done this with oak decks.
we have done circular decking features several times, one or two at the edge of streams which add their own problems.
We have created octagonal base structures which, if you push them as far out as possible to the edge, could mean that additional facia boards are not required. Otherwish, you could use several layers of thin marine ply, fixed one on top of the other, again, in from ad under the edge.
Somewhere I have a 3D sketchup drawing I may be able to find.

What's the best way of curving deck boards? I have kerf cut along the back of the deck boards which works great, but of course the problem is the top of the deck boards has the cut marks showing which is unacceptable. I have based the deck on the face boards being flush with the deck boards so it seems that kerf cutting is out of the question.
It's not a large curve, so I am thinking that maybe I can curve it through bullying it, but wondered if anyone had the right way of doing this?
Thanks.
Hi Dean
I didn't end up getting that job that I quoted for but the guy that put the decking in did "bully" the edgeing round,I work at the site still from time to time and the decking edges are starting to split under the stress. it looks ok and I don't see any other way of doing it! good luck
