  I did close to 3000 bulbs in jan on a grass bank in varying clumps at varying heights!! It was about 3 days max. Although they weren't full days as I had to pop else where!! That also meant adding compost/sand/fertiliser mix as the soil was pretty poor!!!

  I probably could have done it in 2 days!! Just used a spade to prize soil apart add my compost mix and plant bulb. Who are you buying from?? I used geetee and they really were fantastic!!

  Bulbs have been preordered by the customer, quote is for planting only, don't know if I fancy it though 8-10 days is a lot of time to fit into a busy schedule.

  1000 a day in clumps of 3-4 if its in grass, If its in soil / prepared ground you can do 1500+ depending on whether its firm or soft.

  Its quicker if one person goes round spading out holes and another pops the bulbs in and fills... I did it on my own (1200 bulbs) in about a day and half - dug all holes first then droped and filled after. This method lets you make sure they are all spread evenly.

  You could sub in some tree planters to do it. I know lads in Scotland who can plant 1-2k saplings a day. Depending on the specs the skill set is very similar.
