Any LJN Member use Simply Business for Insurance?

Looking for a bit of feedback from Members that have used this LJN sponsor, Simply Business, as we are hoping to speak with them this week.

Looked on their website for a quote, and it appears that Nurseries are not listed as a category?

We previously insured through the NFU, but £3,500+ a year insurance for a small business is a bit steep!!!

  • I've been using Simply Business for a while.

Prices are good, service is extremely good - I would be happy to recommend them.

  • I've used them as a broker for several years.

Prices seem reasonable and friendly service - thankfully haven't had to make any claims so can't comment on that.

  • Many thanks Matt, Craig and Gaynor

Grow our plants in Wheelie bins, job done!!!

T will be on the phone this week.

  • Nope.  No Monkey business here!

How does Wheelie Bins R Us come across to you as a Horticultural business?

I know that we grow plants in bigger pots, but c'mon?

  • To conclude, Simply Business do not insure all businesses, Nurseries for one.

Tried them yesterday, and T spoke with someone, less than helpful, that did not understand that there were places like Nurseries, that actually grew plants as a Business?  However the less than helpful person did refer us to their "sister company", but they did not insure Nurseries either.

Simply Business "sister company" were very helpful, and refered us to another company, who refered us again to another.

As a result, we have been able to get insured as of today.

Lesson learned, simple is not always best.

  • i use them all good for me
  • Hi T & S Plants,

I saw your post and I just want to apologise if my colleague was less than helpful on the phone. Unfortunately we don't insure Nurseries (and Garden Centres). Our insurers don't offer cover for this.

The least we can do is revering you to someone who can insure you. We didn't do a good job. My apologies for the service.

  • I agree wish could get quote for van insurance online - this has reminded me still waiting for a call back from simply business. Also agree getting commercial insurance generally for nursery/plant centre not straightforward for some reason?

I have tried to get a quote for my van insurance and so far no return call so I'm sticking to the quote from Churchill that I was given stright away online.

Wish Simply would do an instant quote. All the rest do so perhaps they need to bring this feature in.

Yes No Flippin Use and that is the choice?  A free market, not when you insuring a Nursery!!!
