About you and your business ( please complete)

I am 82 years old & very fit. I have 1/2an acre of land which I garden also a 40ft greenhouse. I a joined this group because I thought it was for gardeners & possibly someone could tell me where to buy string for tying tomatoes. When I found what it was about I realised the possibilities. Steam railways & landscaping gardens could go together. The garden doesn't need to be large, it is best of cause if it is long & thin as mine is. To have a circle it must be 13yds wide, less than that could be straight up & down or a run round at both ends. The concrete sleepers are 18"X3x3 reinforced with a twisted stainless steel strip the rails are 30x12mmx6m mild steel bar laid in grooves in the sleepers & held in gauge with 10mm threaded bar 3 to a length on the straight & 5 on curves. Fish plates are 6" lengths of 1" angle & I make the points left or right hand. The work involved is digging a trench 18" wide & 3"deep & laying the sleepers in 6" apart & the rails on top. Having filled the trench & leaving it to settle for a while grass can be sown & you can mow over the top. When laying the track follow the contours of the land it makes for a more interesting ride. I will continue this later with more detail. Eric Walker I also have a 7.25" railway round the garden & I build & sell steam engines.
