Government Guidance on Permeable Paving finally issued

Just in advance of the commencement date for the new Regulations of 1st October the Government has provided its guidance paper on implementing the new rules.

I for one am pleased to see that common sense appears to have prevailed and as long as a rain garden, soakaway or permeable paving solution is used there will be no need to apply for planning permission.

On the other hand the 5m2 exemption does not appear to take into account the humble front path which can be more than this area even on an average property.

Anyone interested can download the guidance here
