York stone pavement stolen from Rochester street

Thousands of pounds of paving slabs have been stolen from a street in Rochester, Kent.

The Yorkstone slabs, reported to be worth more than £7,000, were dug up at the junction of St Margaret's Street and Boley Hill.

It is believed stolen highways barriers might have been set up to make it look as if legitimate work was being carried out on the 40 square meters of paving.

Likewise rendering the internal surfaces of the external walls with cement based renders and plaster will cause decay of the stonework. Literally the walls will…
