London Garden Design Diary: Week 4 2012

Matt has had a slow week on site due to the weather, as most of the jobs he needs to complete on the garden design and build in Bethnal Green , such as painting walls and sheds, require a dry day. He has fixed some lighting and completed the planting, however.

Katrina has been working on the postal garden design for…

Big Garden Birdwatch

I have spent a happy hour this morning, with my daughter, taking part in the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch. Highlights included long-tailed tits, treecreepers and a moorhen (who was scrumping fallen apples!).

It got me thinking; for me having birds in the garden is as…

Winter Garden Work in Devon

Like many gardeners in England, I do not hibernate during the winter months, in fact

In many ways I am just as busy, only hindered by the shorter hours and the weather, which so far this year, has not reduced the working hours.

The winter months allow us to catch up on projects that will improve things for the following growing season, where those ideas that occur during the hectic whirlwind of gardening in spring and summer, can be brought into fruition, when all the gardens…

Plants for Hampton Court Flower Show garden

I am looking to cut costs for my Hampton Court show garden for Amnesty International. Can anyone recommend a local plant supplier in Dorset, Hampshire or Wilshire who can supply show quality plants at a good price?

I am looking for 230 each of Stipa (Nasella) tenuissima and a blue Salvia, and would need good, healthy, well fattened plants.

Please reply here or through my website www.robertkennett.co.uk. Many thanks.

Starting Out, Any tips?

After Working with a Coventry-Based Landscaper for just over a year, learning the ropes and tricks of the trade, i established 'Tranquililty Landscapes' (Garden Services) in 2008, my workload mostly consisted of small, basic jobs such as lawn care, weeding and pruning for a number of clients. although severeal larger jobs were thrown in for good measure, including retaining walls, fencing & Paving.

So, I've decided 2012 is the year for me, and im going all out to expand and…
