About Me:
I love my job, what can be better than a landscaper, landscaping gardens in the outdoors of our beautiful countryside in Sussex and Surrey. In particular designing and installing gardens. I love the varied aspect of my everyday projects. Each day brings new experiences and visions. For instance, one day we can clear a garden, the next we are setting out for a new garden, or completing another project.
I love my wife and my dogs, in that order - generally!

What ever you use to fill the hole, polystyrene is a good option, make holes in bottom so water doesnt collect - which will stink in the long term..... once filled, make sure you cap it with a reinforced concrete so that it wont sag, cover the whole…

I just dont trust Paypal. As for landscaping projects - I wouldnt want to accept credit card payments; especially for large projects, sounds to dodgy to me.

I do not think you are being too sensitive, it angers me that people look down on our trades, especially when they NEED us to do the work, as they either cannot do it due to physical or "mental" reasons - i.e. not having the knowledge! We look afte…

Artificial grass is becoming quite popular, we have recently installed five artificial lawns and have two more lawns to install next month, here at TVG Landscaping we are getting busier and busier.

Why do people want plastic grass in thier garden?
Mainly so that they can have nice colour all year round, No more maintenance and No lawn mower problems.

Cost?

Hi Stuart

Thanks for coming over to LJN I hope we can all gain something from this. I am still working out what we can do to kick start some good debate so any suggestions would be welcome.

Stuart,
I have had no business from either site despite many enquiries. It is still worth keping a presence for brand awareness though.
How is your business doing?
The only 4-5mm quartz we can get is also called horticulture grit. Is that the stuff?

Hi Stuart,
I was looking at your post on Resin Bound Aggregate and i'm interested to learn more. It looks fairly straight forward...did you find this? Also where did you buy your materials from and did you mix the aggregate in a mixer or is it mixed some other way. Any information you can give would be much appreciated. Also i'm based in the north so no competition to you ;-)
Thanks, Dan

Hi Stuart,

I will not be making a decision until September. There is a position that should be coming up then, if our local TMOs can get their act together. If it all falls through and I'm still unemployed then I will look at it seriously.

Hi Stuart
I have been in the Resin bound/bonded aggregate business for over 22years being involved with large jobs such as the Edinburgh greenways (25,000m2) and the m4 bus lane - 22,000m2 (which we carried out in 3nights).
It is down to resources and quality of materials.
If you look at the carpark at Kenilworth Castle on google earth you will see our rig applying Resin Bonded Aggregate 4yrs ago. 2,800m2 in two days which is also permiable to the underlying MOT well before SUDS were thought of. All these jobs are still stone perfect despite the first being on the ground over 10yrs which goes against your statement regarding the durability of resin bonded systems. We have recently had to remove (easily) failed resin bound driveways. We feel the failure was due to the "freeze thaw" effect of the water held within the matrix of the porous surface not helped by the relitively small amount of binder left at the base of the Bound system to adhere to the underlying surface.
We operate through a network of Turn2Stone licencees which is giving us our unpresedented growth.
Over the years I have presented World Wide on the subject of resin bonded systems for decrative and safety uses and would be more than happy to offer my assistance to you if required.
Regards Colin
