About Me:
I love my job, what can be better than a landscaper, landscaping gardens in the outdoors of our beautiful countryside in Sussex and Surrey. In particular designing and installing gardens. I love the varied aspect of my everyday projects. Each day brings new experiences and visions. For instance, one day we can clear a garden, the next we are setting out for a new garden, or completing another project.
I love my wife and my dogs, in that order - generally!

Pointing of slabs *update*

Update of this original blog.

We have completed several projects since Bognor and have used on a few occassions resin based jointing compound from Ncc Inaction, http://www.nccinaction.co.uk/services/default_item.php?id=11. A superb material, where you soak the area to be pointed, using water; then mix the compound together, then using a squeegee spread the material over the paving and into the joints. Then using a soft brush, sweep the excess off and job done. This type of product does leave a… Continue

Rubber Crumb - wet pour - play safe areas.

An excellent safe surface product, keeps little ones safe in play grounds from falls off of play equipment and from toys, like bikes, wheelchairs etc.

Made from recycled car tyres, coloured for aesthetics, can be shaped and laid any where.

Depending on the critical fall height - CFH, from which the maximum height a child can fall from, is the thickness ones needs to install the material. The base is always a black colour and is the cheapest top coat colour, laid to a thickness of 15mm for the… Continue

Resin Bound Surfacing

A visit to the Hampton Court Flower Show in 2008 introduced me to a new surfacing that is porous, attractive and ideal for driveways, paths and disabled access. So having researched various suppliers ofr Resin Bound and Bonded Aggregate Surfacing, an excellent attractive alternative to concrete, block paving and other surfacing for driveways, paths and disabled access; I have finally launched my new service.

Although as a company, we have experience of laying this type of surfacing for other co… Continue

Hi Stuart

Thanks for coming over to LJN I hope we can all gain something from this. I am still working out what we can do to kick start some good debate so any suggestions would be welcome.

Stuart,
I have had no business from either site despite many enquiries. It is still worth keping a presence for brand awareness though.
How is your business doing?
The only 4-5mm quartz we can get is also called horticulture grit. Is that the stuff?

Hi Sean,

I have had one bit of business from TGN, and yes as you say its worth keeping a presence.

Work here rather quiet. Have started th enew service - Resin Bound Aggregate and the is interest but not until the new year - warmer climes!

The grit - is it washed, dried and bagged? If so, let me know price per ton.

Hi Stuart,
I was looking at your post on Resin Bound Aggregate and i'm interested to learn more. It looks fairly straight forward...did you find this? Also where did you buy your materials from and did you mix the aggregate in a mixer or is it mixed some other way. Any information you can give would be much appreciated. Also i'm based in the north so no competition to you ;-)
Thanks, Dan

Hi Stuart,

I will not be making a decision until September. There is a position that should be coming up then, if our local TMOs can get their act together. If it all falls through and I'm still unemployed then I will look at it seriously.
