About your business
We are a garden design and build company based on the Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire border. Jill started the company 10 years ago doing 'a bit of garden maintenance' for therapy. She developed the business to incorporate design and landscaping and enticed me to join her as her landscaper 6 years ago. The business has continued to grow and in 2008 we had our first garden at Hampton Court Flower Show.

In 2009 our garden at Hampton Court, The Healing Garden, supported by MacMillan Cacer Support, won Gold and was also awarded Peoples Choice Award.

No Words of Wisdom on Landscaping, Just a Funny Old Week.

Jill thinks I have an addictive personality. That is not the case where people become addicted to my personality but I become addicted to the things I do. She also says it runs in my family. I have to agree, my family are slightly mad, lovely, but not quite normal in my eyes. My father became addicted to running at the age of 60 and it would be quicker to say what my elder sister hasn’t become addicted to. And I realise I have just become addicted to using the word addicted.

Thoughtful Planting will Reduce Future Problems

Posted on January 16, 2010 at 12:32 3 Comments

I managed to do nearly a full weeks work since the snow began to melt on Monday. There were a couple of weather delays on Wednesday and Thursday but on the whole a, productive week. The job was to remove some trees and reduce the height of a few others, and has been planned since last summer. The trees in question were on the boundary of a neighbouring property and were reducing the light in the garden.

The clients’ property has a garden of a few of acres and was planted about 20… Continue

Hi Simon

It was great to meet up with you again.

Thanks so much for all your efforts and hard work to bring the Pink Tap to the show. Its presence went down really well and looked great as a centerpiece.

I owe you both one;)

Kind regards

Phil

Hello Simon, Your Blog on The Landscape Man is very good. I couldn't agree more bt I think there MUST have been a survey and drawing for the "Mexican Courtyard" which, frustratingly, was not shown....? Thanks for being in touch. I have ended my thread on LJN Forum awaiting Phil's discussion.

Hi Jill,
Having promised my family ,I would skip Hampton this year, I ended up being sponsored to do a show garden for Tyrrells crisps! Am busy trying to sort out hedging and trees. It is a real learning experience at Hamptons and a chance to visit lots of nurseries, I never had the chance to do before. What are you doing this year at Hampton?
