I have agreed to pay what I owe them minus what it cost me to get the stone buffed. I imagine that will be the end of it, since its blatantly fair! A big thanks to you all for your input and advice, much appreciated.

I think you are absolutely right. But it costs so much to employ people!! I may keep the very best all rounders as my core team and bring others in when I need their specialist skills....and pay them more for doing parts of jobs so its worth their w…

I think the exempt NI payments only goes up to the first 5000 pounds of their wages (I think). Which I suppose is worth something.
