Ferns

Ferns are an attractive option for a shady garden, grouped together in uneven numbers they contrast well with other woodland shrubs and perennials. Most prefer a humus rich, moist but well drained soil, for best results Incorporate some well rotted leaf mould, or garden compost into the soil before planting and water frequently…See More

Autumn

Autumn….… bulb planting time! Daffodils, tulips, crocus, hyacinths – all things bright and beautiful to look forward to next year. I like to plant big tubs of the same variety of tulips for maximum impact. One of my favourites is ‘Abba’ a scarlet red double flowered variety, gorgeous! I’ve now planted up my hanging baskets with…See More

September in Your Garden

September and with autumn just around the corner the late summer blooms of Rudbeckia ‘Goldsturm’ light up the borders and make a winning planting combination with asters, ornamental grasses, crocosmia and the bee friendly sedums, all easy to grow and come into their own as everything else is beginning to fade. It’s a good time…See More

Hanging Baskets and more...

Posted on June 17, 2013 at 19:27 0 Comments

June has the longest day on the 21st and everything in our gardens is responding to the extra light and warmth, putting on growth, looking fuller and gorgeous, unfortunately this includes the weeds too, so they will keep you busy this month! Your lawn can be mown regularly now, leave the cuttings and don’t cut too short if the weather is dry. A lawn feed can be applied during the growing season which encourages a closely knit green turf, making it more resistant to weeds, moss and…

Hi Sally,
We would love to quote on your project near wimborne, it will be nice to see a site closer to home.
Email over the details and let me know when you want to do a site visit, I'm a bit pushed this week but early next week is good for me.

Hello Sally - nice to 'meet' you.  I haven't been to any of the pre-registration workshops - want to go to the RSH one only they've not got one together yet either here or London.  The other ones sound helpful too.  Have you been to any of them?

I did meet a cluster group from East Midlands - bit far for me usually unfortunately, but they all came south to a wholesale nursery near me and we went to lunch after.  It was great to meet some other designers, and to link up with the nursery for the future.

Good luck with your work!
