I heard yesterday that an eco garden I designed for a school is now being built, 3 years after I finished the design!   What is the longest time anyone else has waited for a design to be implemented?Continue

Creating Landscapes

Posted on October 27, 2011 at 17:32 4 Comments

Well I am now home and the trailer is unloaded, which wasn’t much fun in torrential rain, but all done.

What an experience being an exhibitor was, I got to talk to lots of people, had a very positive response to my new gabion planters and 2 sociable nights in a nice hotel. I met the famous Phil Voice and his efficient team of helpers, Gaynor Witchard who was my first show customer for the planters, thanks Gaynor, plus many other LJN members both exhibiting and visiting who all came to…

Long Narrow Garden Design

Posted on August 14, 2011 at 19:03 3 Comments

Hi everyone

I thought I’d write a blog to show the fairly typical design process that I went through recently for my latest garden commission. The brief was for a family garden, with screening for privacy and to hide the children’s play equipment and trampoline. The family also wanted to include a small vegetable growing area and more planting in general than they have now. They liked the idea of a fairly formal style, but with a contemporary feel. The garden is quite long and narrow…

Hi Sally,
We would love to quote on your project near wimborne, it will be nice to see a site closer to home.
Email over the details and let me know when you want to do a site visit, I'm a bit pushed this week but early next week is good for me.

Hello Sally - nice to 'meet' you.  I haven't been to any of the pre-registration workshops - want to go to the RSH one only they've not got one together yet either here or London.  The other ones sound helpful too.  Have you been to any of them?

I did meet a cluster group from East Midlands - bit far for me usually unfortunately, but they all came south to a wholesale nursery near me and we went to lunch after.  It was great to meet some other designers, and to link up with the nursery for the future.

Good luck with your work!

Jane
