Flock it...

I see more and more interest in social networking, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Flickr etc. etc.

Having set things up though it's easy to let ones interest wane and fail to keep up-to-date with the goings on within the various groups.

I'm finding a spin-off web-browser based around FireFox to be a real help in keeping track of the groups that I belong to. The browser is called 'Flock' and has all the speed and excellent features of Firefox with the bonus of good social network… Continue

How to manage, upload, crop, caption, and watermark your images for free

Google has a way of quietly working away on their products and without a big fuss they release a mature, user friendly application that is a million miles from the half baked application they started with. Picasa is one of these applications, it's always had some good features but with the release of version 3.1.0 most of the omissions have been addressed.

I'm please to see that you can now add text, that makes it possible to add plant names, locations and watermarks easily to your… Continue

Inspired by Brewers droop

The end of the month means there's a new set of images on the Garden Photographers web site - the results of Images of the Month for November.

The winner - one of mine!

The rain started falling as I made my way along the arboretum walk in the New Forest. I sheltered under the accommodating branches of a Brewers weeping spruce. As I waited I realised I had a photo opportunity right in front of… Continue

Hello Richard
Must organise the guided tour around the parks - early bulbs out already and lots of great hellebore action, so whenever suits you.

Richard - Hi... been back looking at your photos again! Love the water-weary spaniel! The lime-green/yellow heuchera leaf shot is my new fave!

Hello Married,
What time of day is best for garden photography, I suppose it depends on the time of year and colour scheme?

Richard,
These photos are just beautiful. I love the ones of the tree-lined lanes. I haven't been to the New Forest for years, are these taken there?

Aah ha so you were there without seeing me or me you.
Thanks for the comments, we have so much stock for the bank holiday weekend we felt comfortable on Tuesday but today with such a poor weather forecast confidence has fallen steeply.
Went to Chelsea yesterday, felt very disappointed, the gardens were great but every thing is focused to the media who had a massive and somewhat intrusive presence, giving coverage every night of the week is great but then with the interactive side as well it was a case that you were never more than 10ft from a BBC employee or am I getting the rat fact muddled here.
Will post some pictures onto the website this weekend as there will be little else to do at work.
Regards
David
