Maintenance work

Hi all garden maintenance folks!I run a small bamboo nursery and at the moment don't employ any staff and its getting too much to manage the sales side of the business and the plants.I know not many of you are local to us in Aberdeenshire but just want to ask if 'plant maintenance' (feeding, weeding, potting up etc) would be the type of work you would take on you books and invoice on a monthly basis? I would probably be looking at someone coming in once a week or fortnight to keep on top of the…See More

Hello Kerri......I bought some material from the company in Alford many years ago just after it opened. I have just found LJN and I'm glad to see Bamboo is still up there in the chilly north !

Hi Sam,
No, the guy there retired and moved away about 4 years ago and just seemed to wind up the business. We started out here approx 3 years ago (approx 30 miles away). We have been trading mail order only up until recently and now we are hoping to supply the landscaping / garden design trade. We are still not 'open to the public' as such, but are happy for folk to come by appointment. Did you used to buy from Alford?

Have you taken over the bamboo nursery near Alford?

Hi Kirsty, we are not they same company. You're right, the other bamboo company disappeared approx 4 years ago (I think the owner retired and just wound up the business). We have been around for approx 3 years now and going from strength to strength (Mainly in the retail mail order market up untl now but now looking at working with more landscapers and designers). We grow a lot of our own stock but this takes time so we do buy some also to offer a wide range of varieties, also we don't yet have our own large size stock i.e. 30L +. Get in touch and we'll be happy to offer what we can / quote for any projects you have etc.

Thanks, Kerri

Hi Kerri

I looked at using you a few yrs ago - take it you have recently bought it over or new management??? It seemed to disappear for a few yrs. I tend to use bamboo quite a lot - do you buy in or grow? Scottish grown is a big plus for me so interested to hear.

Thanks
kirsty
