We are a nursery in NE Scotland who grow and sell Bamboo. We are currently looking at expanding our range and buying in some plants. We are looking at using some european suppliers. However we are…Continue
Yes, we do keep Phyllostachys Nigra in stock. 5 litre pots with one good size (6ft+) culm and lots of fresh new culms bursting from pots. These retail at £35.60 but for landscapers are £25 + vat.
Thanks for your enquiry, Kerri"
Would you be looking to get this done on site at Turriff ? Have a relative who stays in Tarves he has done this type of work before if you want would ask him if it would be of interest to him!"
Hi all garden maintenance folks!I run a small bamboo nursery and at the moment don't employ any staff and its getting too much to manage the sales side of the business and the plants.I know not many of you are local to us in Aberdeenshire but just want to ask if 'plant maintenance' (feeding, weeding, potting up etc) would be the type of work you would take on you books and invoice on a monthly basis? I would probably be looking at someone coming in once a week or fortnight to keep on top of the…See More
"Hi everyone, at least it is not just us up here in NE Scotland feeling the cold....last year was bizarre, really nice Spring almost Summer like weather as you said Phil! .. then 3-4 inches of snow in Easter holidays! Hopefully we get the last blast…"
This time last year we were basking in a mini heat wave, local news tonight reckons that some areas near here may see up to 25cm of snow tonight! Certainly hasn't stopped here since about 4pm.Planning for the year ahead is difficult enough, or is it just to early?See More
No, the guy there retired and moved away about 4 years ago and just seemed to wind up the business. We started out here approx 3 years ago (approx 30 miles away). We have been trading mail order only up until recently and now we are hoping to supply the landscaping / garden design trade. We are still not 'open to the public' as such, but are happy for folk to come by appointment. Did you used to buy from Alford?
Hi Kirsty, we are not they same company. You're right, the other bamboo company disappeared approx 4 years ago (I think the owner retired and just wound up the business). We have been around for approx 3 years now and going from strength to strength (Mainly in the retail mail order market up untl now but now looking at working with more landscapers and designers). We grow a lot of our own stock but this takes time so we do buy some also to offer a wide range of varieties, also we don't yet have our own large size stock i.e. 30L +. Get in touch and we'll be happy to offer what we can / quote for any projects you have etc.
I looked at using you a few yrs ago - take it you have recently bought it over or new management??? It seemed to disappear for a few yrs. I tend to use bamboo quite a lot - do you buy in or grow? Scottish grown is a big plus for me so interested to hear.
