Three weeks ago I inadvertantly strimmed through a wasps nest in a bank. I was stung on my arms, back, hands and neck - approx 16 times. I carry antihistamine tablets and cream and used/took both immediately but my left hand and arm still "blew up".…
Apparently you can hang up a fake wasp nest - it's supposed to drive away wasps, as they are territorial and fear being attacked by wasps in another nest.

I can sympathise Heidi. I got into my digger a couple of weeks ago and was stung in quick succession by four wasps - two on the neck. The wasps had built a nest in the frame of the digger and didn't take too kind to my invasion.

Insect Bites
After 4 happy years professionally gardening, I was bitten for the first time about a month ago by a wasp. What followed was 5 days off work with my hand doubled in size and very sore and itchy. I was quite spacy due to the strong antihistamine to bring the swelling down and felt quite miserable. I was then stung 12 days later by a honey bee with the same reaction.
