thanks alot don't want to sell my self short it's taken me 20 odd years to work out what i wanted to do at the moment i work in distribution get payed holidays and sick pay and get payed £12 per hour i don't mind working hard but i don't see why firms or other people think that gardeners should work for nothing or little pay when i start my own buisness hope fully soon the benifits i get now i won't get and i have and will take that in to concideration 2 friends of mine as i say floor layer and a chippie earn £40.000 a year they have holidays new cars nice homes is that to much to ask for for a hard days work

hi all i have just got my first and 2nd gardening contacts feel great.but i have a question if some one can help.i have layed turf before.but for my 2nd job the client has an area covered by weeds,plants and grass just genrally oveer run he wants me to strim all this down to clear away the cuttings then possibly turf over the lot in this case would it be better to then try and get rib of as much of the weeds and old plants by digging them out to then get the old turf up then go about re turfing or was told at the weekend by some one get it all done to virtually nothing a turf over the top of the lot plaese help

Best of luck, I have just started myself and I am loving every minute of it. Just a keen amateur gardener myself but can also put my hand to a host of DIY jobs so hope to get plenty of work, especially inside, over the winter months.

Have you thought of getting yourself on the local Age Concern list, well worth contacting them. If you want more info on this let me know
