Hi Janine I went last year with an SGD cluster group. We all really enjoyed it but you're not allowed to take any pictures and you're fairly rushed through because each group has a short time slot! So take a sketch book if you want to take notes.

I've just come across this thread on the forum and i think it's an interesting question. I went to a fantastic talk earlier this year by Martha Schwartz who was talking on a subject along the same lines. She was lamenting the number of 'grey' spaces…

Feed the birds...

In the last couple of months I’ve been woken at night by the sound of the dawn chorus, which is a beautiful sound, but strange since I would have thought it was something you would expect to hear in summer. So I was really pleased to have been given a bird feeder for Christmas so that I might be able to attract these birds and see them during the daytime.

Despite my initial enthusiasm though I haven’t seen so much as a peck at the tasty peanuts that are hanging in the garden - I wonder if perha… Continue

Down tools

Let’s face it, January is not the busiest time of the year for working in the garden. But if you think of January in the garden as the outdoor equivalent of the “spring clean” you give your home you will be well prepared for the next round of work this year.

As much as we try to always clean our tools after using them, and religiously oil our secateurs and shears, sometimes these jobs are overlooked - especially when you’ve just finished a long days work outdoors, it’s cold and dark and all you… Continue

Hi Charlotte,

No we dont use the bugs as they are not approved for use just yet. They are also unlikely to be a useful tool in eradication as they will only control such rapid growth. As you can imagine they will not wipe the plant out as they will wipe themselves out in the process!

We work nationwide so London is no problem, if you need anymore information you can contact me directly or visit our website www.nimrodenvironmental.co.uk

Kind Regards,

Dan

Hi Charlotte. Love your work. I stopped by your site and noticed some dry stone in there! Best wishes. Richard

Hmm, not sure what the dry stone might have been, i don't think i have done any in my gardens. Although i did once go on a dry stone walling course run by BTCV in Leeds. I loved it! Unfortunately there's not that much call for it in the type of london gardens i design, but when i find the opportunity i'll slip on in somewhere....

Hi Charlotte. I am currently working in Totteridge Green London on extensive dry stone walls and paving. London is turned on to dry stone!
I will try my best to pursude you to set me on!
PS. I am associated with the uk no1 walling and grounds work contractors so no project is too daunting.
Best wishes

Hello Charlotte, lovely work... and in London, one of my favorite cities.
Do drop by and visit my blog, I write about garden design and garden travel. Perhaps we can make a connection here. Regards, Alice http://BayAreaTendrils.blogspot.com
