I've just spoken to the IOG press office about WiFi access during Saltex and they tell me that it's not available through them (rather poor in this media centric world we now live). I've explained to Colin that we might all want to Tweet, micro-blo…

I think it is an excellent idea. In the past we have donated a percentage of the takings towards particular causes. For example, quite a few of our clients have suffered (or have family members) from a stoke and even a pound from each job over a we…

And boy isn't it a joy to mow afterwards - no fighting against the thatch and a quicker cut regardless of what speed you run your mower at.

Totally agree - A roller has no negative effect as far as compaction - this is supported by the IOG and also a lot of research in the USA. Mowing is just one part of lawn care - it is a science and one that far too many people think they can get a m…

Tests have proved that using a roller mower had no negative effect as far as compaction and produced no consistent changes in turf colour or quality. In fact a four wheel mower will cause more localised compaction. However roller mowers and wet gras…

So you no longer want to mow your own lawn

There comes a point in life when you can’t (or don't want to) undertake the mowing of your own lawn perhaps for health reasons, lack of time or equipment, whilst away on business or holiday.

Maybe you have tried to get that perfect lawn but somehow have never quite managed to archive this or perhaps you just need a helping hand to rectify a particular problem?

Looking after your lawn is hard work particularly if you want to develop and sustain a quality lawn and I am sure most home owners can… Continue

A good lawn starts with a good cut

Lawns can be one of the most work intensive items you will have in your garden and in order to develop and sustain a quality lawn you need to know your lawn type, when and how often you should mow the lawn. Mowing too often, too little, at the wrong height or at the wrong times can seriously degrade the condition and vigour of the lawn.

I see more lawns that have been damaged by poor mowing practices than lack of or over dosing with chemicals or soil structure problems.

Mowing correctly isn’t… Continue

Solving a poorly installed artificial lawn problem

We received a very distressed phone call from a wonderful lady who had a problem with her artificial lawn and wondered if as the local experts in the area we could assist.

Upon arrival you were greeted with a smell that I could only describe as – well you can’t describe it I have never encountered such an odour before but it resembled what I would assume to be rotting flesh. My immediate thought was a buried body or a collapsed drain!

The artificial lawn was saturated and as soon as you walked… Continue

New artificial grass supplier launched in UK : Namgrass

On the 1st of November 2009, NAMGRASS UK was officially launched.

Namgrass is one of the leading artificial grass companies in Europe that can design, produce and distribute high-end artificial grass products for all residential purposes. They are globally responsible for more than 50 million m² of installed artificial grass.

Having checked their product range I was very impressed with the quality and affordability. The grasses no longer resemble the green grocers display table and all have th… Continue

Hi Graeme

The lawnflight is quite a heavy mower so the stripes are outstanding with or without the mulch kit.

Last year i only got to use the mulch kit for about a month as the ground was just to wet to use it, but the when i did there was no waste to come away at all.

The lawn does have to be dry and fairly short for it to work but if like i do cut my lawns once a week even twice a week there should be no problems.

The only disadvantage with the mower is that they are heavy and they have a weak drive i think thats down to the weight. I bought my 2nd this year from a local dealer for £780 with mulch kit which was a bargain.

Hope this helps m8 if you need anything else just let me know

cheers

Im like a little seed thats been lying dormant, ive kept busy churning out numerous projects, now weve been recognised for our efforts, im self taught in all aspects, walked away from school with only an A level in art, spent all my life in gardens and now................well watch this space .
Im on fire with drive and passion and i creave exposure so i can really let go, if you send me an email i'll post you back some of my designs, perhaps you could" preach the word" regarding me designing to whom ever wishes to have my creations.

Do you think my site is starting to look professional?? We only accept truthful answers as we love to take heed of negativity in all aspects of our proffesion, its the only way to progress

The system I developed for a company called Oaklands based in Chesham has been operational for some years, currently their system does not schedule as he prefers to do it himself, but it runs all other operations, if you are interested I can download a trial - I have a set up where you request me to come on line and I then log in and can sort out stuff or do on line training.

If you run quick books or some other finance program then all we do is batch the month end results into your accounts as a single entry.

You will need to have a copy of Access 97 as a minimum.

Hi Graeme
Glad that you got one over on the restaurant you were working at. You are right about restaurnts not wanting to pay. My daughters boyfriend does gardening and he had three of them belonging to the same company and they were bad payers and in the end he dropped them all.

Colin.
