Thanks Kerrie

I could not get paniculata out of my head.

This Hyrangea is well established in the garden of the house - Le Mas at St Marcory nr Monpazier - where we stayed for six months when we arrived in France.

Looks like Oakleaf Hydrangea or Hydrangea quercifolia maybe the cultivar 'Snow Queen'

Oakleaf Hydrangea is native to the US in Southeast areas of Virginia and N. Carolina, Thomas Jefferson was the first to propagate!

Thanks Mark

I visited this garden about two and a half weeks ago and these flowers were out then. Judging by the freshness of the blooms they look to last another week to ten days at least.

I re-visited during the winter and took about 15 hard wood cuttings - so far, about three-quarter of them have sprouted leaves - It's certainly a positive sign but I'm not sure if the cuttings are using up stored reserves or they are throwing out leaves?

Does anyone have any experience with reproducing these hydrangeas?
