Dave Saltman is one of Robin Ainsworth's clients by the way.

Sorry been out of action for a while , have been diagnosed with an ulcer yet again-had one when I was 7! Anyway, Phil, from the designer's point of view I will happily help you in this.

Hello Phil, interestingly there is a similar situation going on in the greenkeeper/groundsman world - there are two main organisation BIGGA (British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association) and IOG (Institute of Groundsman) and two separate industry show Harrogate Week and Saltex which cover pretty much the same markets. Pitchcare, one of the most respected trade publications for both golf and sports turf professionals with an active message board on its website, have been talking about the need to have one trade organisation to represent everyone's interests for a while now - link to recent thread here http://www.pitchcare.com/message/message/18673 Might be worth contacting Dave Saltman at Pitchcare to see how they have gone about things - might have some useful tips??

I have often referred to LJN as a 'connection broker' - I think it sums us up quite well.

i think it is important to make it really clear that their is an `association of Contractors/Fabricators/maintenance etc and Designers.
As we are separated generally in the associations available.
It is an element that could promote the association
An important point for the public to see interaction / communication between diverse specialists in this industry and an association that is proactive to bring us all together. As opposed to separate us.As often a team comes together to create gardens

it could potentially bring more viewing public/potential customers to the site.

Hi everyone ,
I have just been following this on the outer edge.

it looks good to me .
I have a question concerning ;
Why was it formed:

To include Garden designers here as well as in first paragraph.
Only a thought as people do flick quicky through information as we have so much of it in life.

And also because you could have / probably will have alot of designers in LJN , as we are limited with associations other than Garden design society . As most of the others are more focused upon construction and contractors .
