Hi all

I have been running a garden maintenance business for about three years and so far all my contracts are on a regular hourly rate basis.

I am keen to convert these into quoted annual contracts paid by the customer via standing order on a monthly basis over 12 months a year. I just wondered if anyone had any experience in running their business this way and how it works?

do the customers query paying for a reduced service over the winter months?

Do you price for the maximum time spent on site per visit or an average over the year?

Also if anyone has an example contract i could look at i would be very grateful as i am not really sure how to word such a contract.

Hi John, I've got through a few pairs from a nipper to now and no I've never found anything that fits your criteria. Mostly cold, uncomfortable and have the unfortunate effect of removing hairs from the mid leg region when worn for long periods - a -ve for blokes but possibly money saving for the ladees:-)

Me again, does anyone have welly boots that grip well, keep their feet warm, are waterproof but don't collect mud anywhere at any time? Mud free welly's, that would be a good idea!

Hello all,

Lots of members and only a few days old! :) I have a tool idea! For ages I have been using a pair of modified secateurs to hold roses in my left hand while I cut them with proper secateurs in my right hand. They are great, I just hold and snip, hold and snip, then as I hold the garden grips over the wheel barrow I snip the roses into small pieces.  

What do you think, should this be the new LJN tool? No one makes any, and for me they are just brill. What do you all think?

I like the concept JC.

I'm going to think around current operational issues and try to come up with a few curve balls for consideration...it's a big brief and surely there are endless ideas and opportunities. thinking hat on!
