  • Sorry! Writing this from iPhone. Big fingers hit post without adding this bit! Customer looking to have square pergola top changed to curve to match arched gate and gateway in wall.

How do I build these or who could supply customed to the arc radius?

    Thanks.
  • You could try this approach.

  • That doesn't look a "simple DIY project"!! What are the difficult ones like I wonder lol! I think I'd just use say 3 or 4 8' lengths of thin wood, about 3" x 1". Stack the whole lot on top of each other, like plywood, bend to the required arch and then put a load of screws through to hold the "sandwich" together......... the curve should stay in it.... hopefully!!

  • Grange sell the curved tops separately - although not a cheap way to do it! Alternatively find a timber merchant locally that might stock them- we have stewarts timber merchants in glasgow.
  • Chris Nangle or the lovely lady from Quercus Lisa Beard may be able to help.
If you want steel I can help.
    • Thanks all. I'm gonna go into Keyline tmrw and see what they have. Customer doesn't want to spend too much more than what is existing job so has told me to go for something standard even if we need to make do.

Thanks for heads ups though. Have checked some out already and may use in future.

      Thanks, Neil.
