its at my mothers house and therein all ready a larger holly there that hedge will connect to,I'm thinking more in lines of Acer Globosum, Cercis forest pansey,Because its my mothers i want it to be exciting!its just so have to pick some thing that contrasts with it nicely ??

What about a liquidamber? In the autumn the red will contrast vividly with the holly.
