love it, - will have to try that one out.
Clearly it doesn't and any self respecting client KNOWS that. That's the point..
You simply can't get something for nothing.....
I must be missing something here.
If I'm dealing with a cheapskate and they say High Quality & Low Price, then what am I gonna do then? Do a lovely job and be out of pocket?
Do you not get the point ? .....You know it's time to walk away.. ....
You can not win if customer's expectation has not been correctly set and they want high specification and low price. Mutually exclusive....
I was only trying to introduce and interesting way of dealing with it...sometimes wonder why I bother lol :-(

I didn't write it - the section in italics is "quoted"
I just said I loved the approach .....and I think if dealing with a customer who is aguing on costs vs specification and wants high spec/low/cheap price then its not condescending in my view.....as the client is not valuing your service offering anyway.....
Why ?

No, you walk away as the quoted post advises you to do. Think subliminal. With so many members on here talking about customers being unreasonably expectant of what we are able to provide for the budget they have in mind. The recent post "£15 per hour, I think not", is very relevent to what Gary's post was all about.

just as an extra, the post i quoted got 76 responses and over 4000 views, most of which stacked in favour of walking away
Yes, thank you I understand the premise but it's hardly a gem of wisdom IMO. I don't interract with my clients in this salesman type fashion. I don't haggle my prices and know when a job isn't for me. Plus I seldom get into this style of dialogue over unrealistic expectations and budgets because I find this information out before I meet them....

Unfortunately I am not prefect and don't always spot such scenarios, hence why I like such 'tools' in my back pocket. I do come from a business/sales background and try to use my skills to run a business for my benefit, my guys benefits and our clients benefit.
The thread was merely posted as a legitimate, alternative means..IMO
What is up with people these days ? Next time I will shut up .....
