What Is This?

We had a lot of snow after christmas and my wife and I were walking in our local woodland, taking photos. A few days later, I was reviewing the pictures on my TV to select which ones to keep. I was about to delete this one, when I spotted some thing odd. It's a little way up the tree in the foreground, just below where it branches to the right.Have a good look and tell me what you think.

  • This is a better picture and I've ringed the area of interest. Also, try increasing the zoom level(bottom right of your screen).

  • This picture caused quite a stir when it was doing the rounds in my neighbourhood. An interesting observation was that the girls saw it almost straight away but most of the guys could't see it even when it was pointed out to them and told what it was.

I'll leave you all guessing until Friday, then I'll enlarge the ringed area.
