Open association for the landscape and garden for industry

In Twitter fashion, tell us what you are doing this weekend.

I am off to the airport to collect Donna. Nothing else planned except watching the motor racing and maybe weeding the onions and garlic.

Congratulations Vanessa. No wonder you sold, really attractive arrangement . Amazing what you can design in a small stand.

Spent yesterday in grinding frenzy getting furniture finished for forthcoming show. Just had my coffee in garden alive with bee activity - very healthy population of bumble and honey bee visitors this year. Having a quick participation spree on LJ then weeding before mad dog's noon.

Thanks for your compliment Helen I had a great time.

This weekend I have no work out of home...phew...there are open gardens for the NGS in the next village to me so I'm going to have a wander in a bit...then sowing seeds for next years plants...it's a scorching 36degrees in the greenhouse so may not venture in there...sitting in my warm sunny garden this afternoon with a jug of Pimms or 2 to sit back and look at all the hard work I've put in...it's bee crazy in one of borders...good to see.

Happy sunny Sunday to you all :o)

Managed to grab a few hours off and watched the Sandhurst RMA polo team and did enjoy a few glasses - Happy days.

I took some time out this weekend. Yesterday was a scorcher and the evening just perfect.
We went to a Bodega in a small village about seven miles away.

Very French and a great atmosphere. The brass band was very enthusiastic and whipped up the over fifties a bit :) Quite odd because they alternated fifteen mins for the brass band and then fifteen minutes for the open air disco so one minute we had 'when the saints go marching in' and then the Human League just after it:-0))

Good value too. Mussles and chips and a glass of rosé just €6 (about £5.00)

I spent this morning weeding the vegetable patch (mainly onions garlic and tomatoes) and this afternoon putting spindles into the banisters on the landing.

The picture was taken early in the evening (we arrived too early really and the last of the party goers wrapped it up at about 4am) Click to enlarge the photo.

Sounds magical Phil.
I've barely travelled abroad but the music story reminds me of the youths during our stay in Malta. On our late evening strolls we would watch them outside the nightclubs thinking how very different they were to our cynical, cool youth culture. Just hanging around outside skateboarding, and chatting and on their mobile phones....usually to their mums!

It is my birthday today so taken some time out away from the screen and canoed for 8km down the Dordogne river.

The Dordogne is not an aggressive river at the highest of tides and considering we have not had considerable rain for some time it was really sedate.

We decided not to overdo the distance and consider the heat (temperatures about 34 degrees C).

There was hardly anyone on the river at all (probably saw about three other canoes and three small fishing punts.

Follow the route on a Google map.

I hope everyone is have a great weekend too (not too much sun)
Now off to light the BBQ:-0))

Thanks Kerrie
It is a magical place. The water so clear and slow and lots of wildlife too.
There is a water weed that is in bloom (looks just like a lawn daisy) and the scent is strong.

We were even attackec by a swan. I was wearing a tea towel over my head (I looked like Marilyn Munroe) and I had a white T shirt. He/or she must have thought I was a swan and it flew at our canoes. One attach was planned from three or four hundred metres away and it flew just above the water straight at Donna and Henry's canoe.

I had to ward it off with the paddle on several occasions and it followed us for near half a mile.

Am in Zurich - looking at designs and trying to track down an eccentric botanist who apparently has extensive gardens there. Anyone know him?

What a perfect day, slow paddling with the family on calm water filled with fragrant floating daisies. Looks beautiful and cooling.
Not sure I remember Marilyn Monroe with a tea towel on her head but I'm sure you looked great!
Being pursued by a swan must of been a bit hairy for Donna and Henry, well done them for not ending up in the drink.

You are all so lucky to have such a magical place to spend family time and make enduring memories.

Having a lazy time.

Henry and Fleur are both in the UK and we have a week from today completely childless.
I won't be about all the time this coming week (probably just for an hour or so in the mornings) as we take some time out to relax.

The weather has been very hot and it's set to be the same this week too.

Have a good week everyone.

Phil
