Yes, first set of searches showed these but they seemed to be mainly in south of USA or aquatic. Now happy that it is some sort of parasitic worm, hairworm/horsehair worm/Gordian worm, although surprised to find it well away from any standing water, on top of a mound of old building rubble with any dampness just present because of the vegetation.
