A product can be high strength thru formulation or by application mix.
What is its intended use ? Paved / hard areas, areas not intended to bare veg station, shrub beds etc ...
There are many restrictions on use so vital you paint a complete picture
Id check you have PA1/6 already too as the questiuon you ask does imply you are not sure,m which you would be if you had done the relevant training.
It is illigal to use herbicides for profit (and most of them on the market are not approved for ammature use anyway), without the qualifications.
Ok, you are unlikely to find many residual pesticides that can be sprayed that are available for that task (ie long lasting). Certain types of Pesticides are banned from being used to blanket spray hard surfaces since last year. You can do 'spot spraying' using Roundup etc.
You can apply certain residuals if you use a CDA Lance to apply (ie Nomix Dual)
You probably do not need high, high strenght as it will have little effect past killing existing weeds (ie no resideual effect). That means you can select a more cost effective product.

Do you need to be licensed 'flowchart' (ie legal) ?

If you are unsure, unqualified or do not have the equipment, sub it out to someone rather than get sucked into a 'situation'...
Its another service you can offer, but its not cheap to do. A local course for me is 2 days & £300. I've not done it yet, as it means losing 2 days work & paying for the course, & I don't get asked to do it anyway, but I may look at it again when things quieten down a bit.

Yes it means you're not breaking the law, which you are if you use pesticides in the course of your business.

Hi Lee
As Phil & Gary say you do need training.
If you are offering any weed killing as a service you do need to have PA1 & PA6 qualifications if you are using a professional use product. Also what a lot of people don't know is that if you are offering a service to someone else and you decide to use a non-professional use product (ie a weedkiller from a garden centre) you must also have the PA1, PA6 qualifications.
There is a bit more info on our site about training if you want to find out more PA1 & PA6 Training either that or we are happy to take you through how it works if you want to give us a call on 01778 394052 or email your details to info@progreen.co.uk and we'll get back to you.
Remember once you are qualified it is a bit like a driving licence - so there's no need to take it again but it is suggested that you go back and refresh yourself either by going through your course notes or by attending a refresher day (spookily we have one running today at ours...)
Cheers
Louise
