I have just been given a price for this lawnmower of £485 inc vat.

It is the one with a mulching capability, but the lowest it can cut is 30 mm,

where most cut down to 25 mm.

Is this a good price, and is 30 mm going to be too high on occassions.

I have some customers who like it scalped and had the same concern. No need to though, only have one customer that I am able to use the lowest setting and that is an extremely flat lawn. Although short I need to use the second lowest setting on other "cut it as short as you can" lawns.

And yes I would say the price quoted is good.

Hi john

I have one of these and the cut hight has never been an issue even on the lawns that i cut really low i dont think i have used it on its lowest cut.

I know people like these mowers  but i really think the build quality is poor and if you look at recent threads alot of people have had problems with them even though they like them. Infact i was contacted by my dealer yesterday to say that stihl were offering an upgraded roller kit FOC for any mower used in heavy sitiuations. There are various other upgrades as well for other known weak spots.

If reliablity is not a priorirty, they are cheap, it may be worth a try but i think there are better more reliable alternatives which will hold there value better and offer better value for money in the long term. I know i have wandered off the original question but i dont want to see someone waste money like i have! I know others may disagree?
