Looks very Cherry-ish to me.
Bark does look cherry like so that's a possibility
I will throw Sweet Chestnut into the mix....though if this is the same tree as the taller ones behind it (too hard to tell) then that would rule that out
Ash behind, a Beech and a Lime to the right.
Not sweet Chestnut. or at least not Castanea sativa...leaves too small, although individually similar.
Just don't think it's a Cherry.
Not a Fagus sylvatica, (fastigiata I guess you meant) but hold onto that thought, possibly!
Sorbus...not any one that I know.
No noticeable blossom that I recall and no fruits showing
Prunus avium would be my guess, or some similar species judging by the bark and foliage?
Looks like a bog-standard, self-seeded wild cherry to me as well?
Has to be a cherry, from the shape of the leaves, bark and branch lay out.
