Good to see I was between Finchingfield and Weathersfield on 7th July in hot sun and was cheering them all on and yet in France they have alot of rain.
I've just come back from Bergerac where we watched some of the time trials starting off. Temperatures into the 30's today after a dull start.
I'll upload some piccies later...just going out on my bike;)

Excellent stuff. Le Tour is more than the sum of it's parts. It's the greatest carnival on earth with the hardest-0training fittest humans on earth. It's more than just a race; it's a story, a saga, epic with heroes and villains, twists and surprises, drama and shock. I've been watching it all my life and nothing compares.
sadly this yeaer is slightly on the dull side due to the abandonment of a couple of the favourites, plus a couple of non starters. The battles up the tourmalet, tommy simpson and casartellis memorials, the horrific crashes, rain, snow and power battles all help create something that exists only in the tour.
This was my first ever Tour and I just couldn't believe how many people, vehicles and organisation that went into the event. It is immense.
