We have two gardens entered this year, one in the

large hotel category and the other is a large block of residential

flats with about an acre and a half of garden.

The judging can take place at any time of the month and

sometimes into the first week of August.

The bedding plants are not growing very well at the moment

with the continuous rain and the strong winds have been causing

quite a few problems. The retired gardening resident at the block of flats

has just broken his shoulder, so he will be out of action for a while and our

weekly hours there are limited to eight,  - once a week.

So we are hoping that the judging takes place at the end of July after

two weeks of glorious sunshine.

good luck John :)

Thanks Mick, anything can happen in the next four weeks

so a certain amount of luck will be useful. Some parts of the gardens

look great, others are a not quite ready, but by the judging it could be a

total change around. Still it is only for fun ?

can you post photos or are the gardens just for the judges eyes only

I have one of part of the hotel taken yesterday, the other garden I will

photograph on Friday, the mobile battery was flat last friday - after we

weeded and dead headed and generally got it ready for a photo'.

Good luck John !!!

But, where are all the people at this hotel ???

Do they not enjoy the gardens??? Maybe you should change, well :)))

Payback :)))

Finally got my mobile to connect to the computer with the aid

of a new lead. This is the second property entered, think it was

raining at the time :)

Last week of the competition but sometimes it goes into the first week

of August. Got diverted into a turfing project last week at the hotel as

an emergency before the holiday season truly began. Now back on garden

maintenance, and have added a few more bedding plants this week and put a

sign at the back of the main garden directing everyone through to the wildlife

garden. It looks as though the competition is going to be hard to beat this year,

so we want them to see everything.

Including the wildlife garden  -   http://www.landscapejuicenetwork.com/profiles/blogs/httpwwwlandscap...

And the main garden today

Gardens are looking great John.

Good Luck

Shona

The two gardens may have won something ?

They are not announcing the winners until

the evening of the award presentations.

They have both been sent an invite, but I am

just not sure if this means they have won something.

I do know for sure that they will not be pleased if they

have to sit there all evening and then walk away with

nothing. It is a long long evening......  lol
