  • for me, it's the hand stuff
    Felco secateurs
    Tub trugs
    Knee pads
    Long handled weeding fork
    Transplanting trowel
Edging shears (for when the lawnmower guy/girl doesn't bother!)
    Long handled lopper
    Pruning Saw
    Henchman ladders
    Gloves

oh and good waterproofs if we're talking about the wet
  • Stihl BR600 blower - gets used daily
Echo 4000 brushcutter, again daily use, fantastic machine
    Big flexy plastic tub
Ferris 36" hydrowalk - saves so much time on a few of my jobs.
Fiskars swoe - really handy not only for weeding but also clearing crap from block paving. I use it whilst using the backpack blower for clearing up paving, gulleys etc for a really quick and effective job.
    Felco 7 secateurs
GD105 trailer - spacious, comfy and reassuring to have behind the van. Will cope with whatever job I might have
HS81R trimmer, this thing has the 30" blade which I now don't think I could do without, esp. for topping hedges up to 6ft high without any need for ladders. Cuts through pretty thick branches too
Digi camera, evidence of my work in the event of any queries!
And a big tub of glyphosate!
  • No real order but I couldn't work without any of them.
    Van
    Diary (useless memory)
    Mowers (M5 & Izzy)
    Strummer (FS40/45)
    Edging shearers (Fiskars)
    Hoe (I use Wolf kit)
Loopers (have got me out of so many difficult situ's)
    FS85
    Chainsaw (Stihl)
    Felco's
  • 1. Peat free compost - free running bark, no clog up when wet like with peat

    2. felco's - for the pro's

    3. 10 litre pots - anything below this is a liner

    4. Boxer dogs - good in the wet, loads of slobber

    5. No waterproofs - Nursery Men and women are tough!!!!

    6. Sack barrow/plant mover - rough terrain tyres

    7. and another thing, who needs 10 anyway?
  • Number 1 has got to be my phone, its through this that most of my work or leads come via, can chase people up, order materials, speak to customers, speak to the wife to say run me a hot bath i`m home in ten mins! I couldn`t live without it. Great for googling suppliers in places i`m new to.

It all depends what I'm doing, but my core essential kit would be my pick up, my trailer, my hedgemaster ladders and my Felco's.

Plus my Thermos flask in winter.
  • It has to be hand stuff for me too, the petrol gear is a necessity only!
    1. Felco 7 secateurs in a belt holster and used every few minutes.
    2. Tidy up tarp - one of those with a handle on each corner - invaluable.
    3. Henchman Midi with extender - never feel so safe up to 15 feet with both hands free.
    4. Wolf Garten - just discovered them, but these really are the strongest and best hand tools.
    5. Showa re-grip gloves from Protec - by far the best gloves (thanks Progard!)
    6. Dickies trousers.
    7. Leaf rake - I think it was £3.99 from Wilkinsons and has lasted two years with no signs of wear!
    8. Safety glasses from 3M - got one pair free and bought another two pairs from Protec - Marcus Grunholm.
    9. Stihl tshirts off eBay - so comfy
    10. My Steelies from BTCV - worn every day to protect my toes!

Hope this helps - and the majority of this is thanks to the people on LJN - recommendation is always the best, thanks guys and gals :)
  • For me, if its tree work, then the obviouse, climbing kit, silky, 020t, gardening, felco secatures and holster, hayter mower stihl blower, hippo bags, great for clearance work, tarpauline for hedging, broom, mobile.
  • My Phone
    My Diary
    Honda Mower
    Stihll Strimmer
Stihll Blower (much more exiting & quicher than a broom!!!)
    Stihll Hedge Trimmer
    Belle Cement Mixer
Makitta combi drills (Impact driver has so much power)
    Pop up garden bag
Makitta Radio (always keeps me going whatever the weather)
  • Again, there's no particular order to this list as our favourite tools are dependant on the job we're working on but the following spring to mind:
    Felcos (5 & 7) - fab!
    Daisy our Mercedes Sprinter van
    Dizzy the cement mixer
Big Stick & Little Stick (crow bars!)
Big sheet of tarpaulin & bungees
    Our portaloo
    Gorilla buckets
    Huge ball of string
    Long Spirit level
    M&S Cool Bag for butties!
