Tiring, hard day today, little lawn to start with this morning, Then over the manor where i continued moving the massive heap of chippings, This time i emptied my trailer and filled it and took it back up to an area under a tree besides the drive where nothing but weeds grow. took four loads up which meant dragging the full trailer up by hand, Knackering! after that i did some weedkiller spraying on the gravel which was a bit easier going.

Next went to the new barn conversion where i had a bit of a confrontation with the head builder. Started telling me that it will need cutting twice because its so long blah blah blah! so i kept calm which took some effort and just said "I'll be the judge of that!" .... "oh! i'm not telling you how to do your job!" ..... "That's alright then, because i wouldn't dream of telling you how to point your brickwork!"  ...... "o.k, i'll let you get on then, thanks." ...."You're welcome"

Quite proud of myself for keeping my cool!

So i was there for 3 hours and got another hour there tommorrow.

Now it's Cider time, and will soon be beer time!

one regular maintenance client first thing, then a couple of hours snagging on a recent landscaping project, then off on an expedition to view a new prospects garden with a view to landscaping their pond. Looks promising, this weekends mission is to close the books for 10-11 and thats a bit of a chore as last time i did anything with them was last summer oops!!!

I know what you mean about the books! That's going to be my task for sunday!!

Long day doing three hedge cuts.

Off to the coast on Sunday so I hope the weather holds.

Fish and chips for dinner. Relaxing with a cup of tea and watching Eddie Stobart on Five. ( What happened to the rock and roll days of Friday nights on the lash ?)

Manor house this morning, Cut the grass in the 2 orchards and around the back of the lake. Then over to the new barns to finish off the lawn i couldn't do because the door and window frames had just been painted yesterday. It was nice to be there on my own without the builders being about!..... Yes i am an unsociable sod! .

Then it was the weekly trip to Asda, where i had to make a complaint about a member of staff in the clothes department, She has been rude to my missus a couple of times, and today she was rude to me because i asked for a tape measure to measure my neck for a new shirt (wedding), the way she reacted anyone would think i'd asked her to run a marathon for me!

I was hungry and mardy anyway so i told her not to bother and made a complaint. I don't care if someone likes me or not but when they work in a shop where i spend between £150 and £200 a week Then they should damned well show me some coutesy. The matter is being dealt with!

Curry for tea and some beers.

12 hr day - on a Saturday - knew I was mad to go self employed! Lawn cut and a bit of weeding at a regular customer, who complimented me on my new look invoices.....
Then 4 minutes down the road to a commercial customer to be confronted with the whole site with grass at about 30 cm + long (a month since it was last cut) - luckily the Snapper ride on made easy work of the flat bits, albeit in bottom gear and highest cut. Its battery packed up suddenly, so had to resort to the old fashioned pull start - new battery on Monday methinks... I dragged the Hayterette up to cut the flat tops of the grass banks which are on 3 sides of the site before strimming both the steep sides of the banks which was the usual mind (and leg) numbing operation but it now looks very presentable again - till next month....
So to all the people of Moulton, Lincs who wondered who the person still busily strimming away till 8.15 pm on a Saturday night was, yes it was me......
Now its off to the local pub - might get there before closing time!

Went to Cleethorpes today. On the way there, whilst stood in traffic we saw a motorcyclist taken out by a guy in a Mercedes trying to queue jump by undertaking in the left hand land. I was amazed as I was the only person that stopped to help.

Besides that a nice day with plenty of current bun.

Day off today.... and what did i end up doing?  Gardening! the missus wanted the front sorted out so did that all morning,

Then went for an impromptu pint with my dad,

then it was Chicken and salad before tackling the books! which i've just finished, well still more to do tommorrow, but i'm nearly up to date, bloody hate paperwork!!

Mega hedge cut fest today. Sweating like a glass blowers bottom for the most of it.

Fishcakes and salad for dinner. Now watching le Tour on the telly while the wifes gone out for a walk = peace at last.

Grass and hedges all day, and I agree about the sweating issue - KEEP YOURSELVES HYDRATED!

Came home and had a nap then, as Paul, watched the Tour highlights. What a race so far, can't wait for the next big sprint and the mountains.

Good news for us to day as one of out commercial contracts has doubled our workload.

6pm meeting with our friendly tree surgeon on the site and then guided him out of Wolverhampton to the motorway.

Chicken in tarragon sauce and rice , lager, bed.

life is quiet this week, did 4 hrs weeding today for 2 lovely clients.

the downside of having a mad spring and deciding to focus on the landscaping, have plenty of quotes out but have run out of work currently, and only have half a dozen maintenance clients left.

oh well have nearly sorted tax return for 10/11 and have a job list as long as my arm pending in my own garden.
