  • You need a few days rest, stretching, and then probably to buy some more expensive equipment with lower vibration levels. What tools do you use now (brands etc)?

Ian, not directly related but for the future:

Go to a good hire chain and get a copy of their traffic light vibration guide to tools (now mandatory for hire shops based on HSE directives). Pick a chain that uses, say, Stihl and it should be reasonably accurate.

It lists all machinery in a grid format and classifies them green, amber and red and then gives max daily usage times and whether breaks or continuous use affects you.

It's a starting place and at least makes you think....

  • yep good pointer ...
  • Don't wait until things get worse Ian. You're obviously concerned enough to ask us what we think, go and get it looked at asap.
  • its a trapped nerve or sciatica -  go to gp asap before it gets worse . id stop work for a day at least.

if your injured u will need months never mind days,...

i have   'white finger' which it could be as stu says we are not experts.

rest, hot bath , cup of tea ....... hot/cold ! shower ,  parecetemol ?? take it easy  good luck
