TAXUS BACCATA HEDGING
I am looking for 600 Taxus 175/200cm. I seems impossible to source having spoken to my key suppliers. Does anyone in the network have any knowledge of a supplier UK or European who could supply such quantity within the next 6/8 weeks?

Failing that, I know a few people (clients mainly) have used http://www.hedgesdirect.co.uk and the quality was very good but not sure if they supply in the sizes you require.

Would be best to buy Taxus as root balled as generally more cost effective and reliable, but you've missed the boat for this season (November to March). Have heard of failures in recent years for Taxus planted in summer, but this is often due to too much or too little water, they don't like wet feet! Would be interested to know if anyone else has heard of any problems?

Thanks for all these.Will definately try them. The issue as Benedict highlighted, is that Root Balls are generally the most cost effective way to move ahead, but the season has finished.

Bare root is November to March and the most cost effective surely. Root balled plants are more expensive and can be planted April - May or September - October for best results.

Not a good idea to plant Taxus bare root - and impossible in that size....
